- Description:
- The third annual Native Children's Authors Festival will be a joint collaboration between the ITEPP-Curriculum Resource Center and Tribal librarians/resource coordinators, local schools, Indian Education Programs, and American Indian community-based organizations. This event is important because very few books portray a true picture of American Indian people and even fewer offer accurate depictions of California Indian people. The Native Children's Authors Festival is a celebration of Native authors' accomplishments and cultivates and promotes literacy within our American Indian community by introducing our children and their families to American Indian authors, illustrators, and artists.
