A Program Evaluation of the Syringe Exchange Program in Reno, Nevada.

The purpose of this project was to evaluate a Syringe Exchange Program (SEP) in Reno, Nevada using the logic model. The objective of the evaluation was to understand the implementation, processes and expected outcomes of the first SEP in the state. The methodology consisted of a program evaluation using the logic model and a literature review of existing research. The results found that the program activities of the SEP in Reno are consistent with activities that have been found to promote positive outcomes in existing research. The SEP in Reno is making an effort to address the opioid public health crisis by promoting activities that increase health and safety among people who inject drugs (PWID).
