The role of the interpreter in habilitative and rehabilitative educational settings
This study focused upon the role of interpreters employed in public high school hearing-impaired programs in seven Western states. The purpose of this study was threefold: 1. To identify the percent of time interpreters are engaged in performing a variety of duties over a period of one school year; 2. To provide prioritized lists of desired interpreter skills, knowledge and training in public school settings; 3. To describe general public high school interpreter employment trends.
