Aedificatus is an effort to maximize the potential of the Mono Lake region at an ecological, economic and cultural level. The design presents opportunities for energy generation, efficient use of water and a dynamic cultural node. Aedificatus performs according to the site’s needs and is able to stand alone as a constructed landscape while still serving as a link in the larger context of the Los Angeles Aqueduct. The main focus of Aedificatus is to maximize the potential of the site. Thus, taking advantage of its characteristics, the approach to this challenge is the proposal of a system of energy generation through the fusion of fresh and saline water. An unconventional approach rooted on conventional technology.
