Evaluating mean life of power system equipment only with end-of-life failure data

This project provides two methods evaluating the mean life of a group of power system equipment using normal and Weibull distribution only by end-of-life failure data based on paper [1]. The procedure of the methods of normal and Weibull distribution includes choosing proper failure data, calculating failure density probability and obtaining the mean life of equipment using the knowledge of probability statistics. An application example of a group of failed equipment is considered and MATLAB programing is utilized to calculate their mean life expectancy.
