Automatic visual inspection of printed circuit boards by edge detection and matching techniques

This project is intended to study the techniques and solve the problems in the application of image processing to automatic visual inspection of printed circuit boards. The contents of this project are: a) description and explanation of the image edge detection and matching techniques; b) implementation of these techniques; c) design and construction of the visual inspection system; and d) presentation of experimental results. Basic components of the system are an Apple II plus 48K computer, DS-65 digitizer, and GE 1CVC2030E video camera.
