Ecocomposition: an inquiry into its place

This thesis is an inquiry into the usefulness of ecocomposition as pedagogy for teaching first-year composition as it is currently understood and also for the potential it promises. It begins by explaining how I came to this inquiry, and what I hope to accomplish during it. The first part of the thesis is a review of the current literature of ecocomposition. The second part evaluates specific elements of ecocomposition in consideration of their application to first-year composition. The third part offers some specific examples of how ecocomposition might be deployed in a first-year composition class and some ideas about what additional research I would like to do in ecocomposition.
