The Shaping of Public Sector Organizations by Employee Motivation
Employee motivation plays a critical role in public sector organizations. A strong correlation persists between public sector employees being motivated intrinsically and why those intrinsically-motivated employees opt for public sector employment. Human motivation is a fundamentally psychological motive that public sector employees exhibit. It is in public sector organizations where individuals motivated by altruism, civic duty, and a penchant for helping society can thrive in a satisfying workplace while fulfilling their needs. Moreover, the foundation for the effectiveness of a public sector organization is established as a result of the intrinsically-motivated employees that public sector organizations draw and hire.
