The objective of this project is to select, organize, and present a recital in that phase of the speech-arts, termed "oral interpretation". The development of the project includes the following : (1) the presentation of selections that comprise two divisions of our literature, Americana and Britannica; (2) the choice of both popular and classical examples; (3) both little known and well known authors; (4} the computation of time limits allowed for the recital; (5) the abbreviating of the selections to conform to the time limits; (6) the listing of a program to accentuate the dramatic points of the selections; (7) the consideration of the emotional appeal; (8) the memorization and rehearsal of the recital; (9) the obtaining of a suitable place to present the recital, publicity, and the printing of programs; (10) the public presentation of the recital.
