Neoconservatism, neoliberalism, and the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001

This thesis discusses the ideological influences of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. It begins by describing the major provisions of the legislation and defining the two political movements that heavily influenced it: neoconservatism and neoliberalism. I then examine where such influences are evident in the No Child Left Behind Act and forecast the damages the legislation may cause if it is not overhauled or abandoned altogether.
