Does Task Length and Task Complexity Affect the Level of Work Engagement for Mid-Career Urban Planners at the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning? A Case Study
This study will measure if there is a relationship between a work assignment's task length and task complexity and level of work engagement for mid-career employees at the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning. According to developmental stage theory, mid-career employees are in a stage in their life where their needs, personalities, and motivations are in transition. This study will add to the body of research on work engagement by further examining the link between the years of employee work experience and the level of work engagement. This study will examine the affect of task length and task complexity on work engagement. These organizational factors have not been previously examined for a connection to work engagement.
