"Planting a seed of wellness": a hands-on approach in reducing stress among Stanislaus State students

This project was focused on developing and implementing a hands-on gardening activity for Stanislaus State students that would assist students in stress reduction and lead to the idea of self-care, well-being and having a healthy lifestyle. The objectives of this project were accomplished through the collaboration between campus organizations and students. A tabling planting activity was provided for students along with information regarding student stress and how gardening could help students with stress relief and ultimately the idea of self-care. Students are able to walk away with therapeutic benefits without the clinical aspect. Planting a Seed of Wellness would be influential in the overall wellness of college students if applied to different universities in the near future.
