Just Dance: The Benefits of Dance in Early Education
This thesis project was created to explore the value of dance in early childhood education. How aware are early educators of the benefits of dance and creative movement in early education? In the present study, 15 graduate students who were enrolled in an early childhood education curriculum course were asked to participate in the Just Dance. The participants were asked to complete a pre and post workshop questionnaire, and engage in a salsa lesson. The results of their experience and implications are discussed. In addition, future research is discussed highlighting some of the benefits of dance and movement for young children.
