Interpolation using the FFT

Interpolation is a basic operation required in many Digital Signal Processing (DSP) applications. This paper explores a frequency domain approach to interpolation using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). Computer programs were developed to perform interpolation using the FFT, and to analyze the error introduced by the method. Methods for reducing error are explored using various input data windows and FFT windows. A comparison of computational efficiencies among different interpolation methods is also presented.
