Results of project sensory : implications for the development of instructional materials for deaf-blind and other multiply handicapped children
The purposes of Project SENSORY have been: 1. To survey a random sampling of programs for the deaf- blind and multiply handicapped and determine: a. the types of specialists employed to work directly on sensory stimulation and training activities, b. the sensory stimulation and training activities incorporated into the total training or educational program, according to each sensory modality, c. the commercially prepared materials available for stimulation and training activities, and d. the recommendations for materials to be included and dimensions to be emphasized or avoided in a kit of materials for sensory development. 2. To review the literature on each sensory modality as it relates to visually and auditorially handicapped children's training or education. 3. To develop conclusions as to the specifications for a sensory development kit of materials.
