Inclination measurement using acceleration

There are numerous applications of inclination measurement in medical, electronic, telecommunication, and aerospace fields. The applications include activity monitors, detection of horizon in digital cameras, identification of movement of device head, and gaming devices. More recently, inclination measurement is widely used in consumer electronics to switch display between portrait and landscape. This report demonstrates inclination measurement using acceleration sensing based on gravity. We propose simple solutions for measuring inclination angles in three orthogonal directions. The measurement of inclination angles was successfully implemented. This report provides a baseline for measuring inclination angle of any static or moving object.
