The relationship between teacher morale and collaboration

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of collaboration on teacher morale in a school that currently has collaboration efforts implemented. The hypothesis was that collaboration and morale are positively correlated. The researcher designed a quantitative study to determine correlation. Forty-eight elementary teachers were invited to participate in a questionnaire consisting of a Likert scale. The findings indicated no correlation existed between collaboration and levels of teacher morale. This research study focused on the relationship between collaboration and morale at one school site. The intent of this study was to add to the body of knowledge about the impact of collaboration on teacher morale. In addition, this study was conducted to provide principals and other administrators with information regarding effective strategies that can be implemented regarding the development of collaborative learning communities within an elementary school setting.
