Transition Model for Physical Activity within the Community for Individuals with Disabilities

Over the years, it has been well documented that adults with disabilities are more physically inactive and use the community less versus adults with no disabilities. Additionally, adapted physical education specialists are challenged to successfully transition individuals with disabilities into the community when it comes to physical activity. The purpose of this project is to develop a model for professionals and parents to use when helping individuals with disabilities to transition into lifelong physical activities in Los Angeles and surrounding community.
