A program evaluation of HEART Women and Girls

The purpose of this project was to evaluate HEART Women and Girls, a culturally sensitive reproductive justice centered initiative catered towards Muslims, using the logic model. The inquiry explored in this paper is: Is HEART Women and Girls using best practices to empower Muslim communities to address sexual violence and improve sexual health literacy? The methodology of this study was a program evaluation utilizing the logic model, as well as a literature review of current research. The results found that overall, HEART Women and Girls is utilizing activities that are consistent with existing research; however, more research is needed. The discussion focused on how there is a a limited amount of research directly addressing reproductive justice in Muslim communities.
