Thermal and structural design optimization of a pre-combustion chamber tip for a medium speed, spark ignited, gaseous fueled engine

To assess a pre-combustion chamber (PCC) design using thermal stress and fatigue life analysis. The pre-chamber design was designed as a retrofit application to the Nordberg FSE-1316 Supairthermal series engines. These engines are operated by the Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Corporation as compressor drives in a 'gas patch' region of Texas.
