Integrated Fluency Curriculum: A Treatment Program for Individuals with Persistent Developmental Stuttering

The aim of this project is to create a treatment protocol for individuals with persistent developmental stuttering (PDS). This curriculum is designed to support speech-language pathologists looking to supplement their knowledge and skills in fluency treatment. Three types of treatment utilized in this protocol are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), speech restructuring, and Video-Assisted Speech Technology (VAST); the treatment manual includes links to instructional videos. These methods aim to increase the quality of life of an individual who stutters, as measured by the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health.
