The China Maritime Threat: A Taiwan Case Study

Taiwan has been under threat of invasion from China for over sixty years. China has expanded and advanced its naval capacity over the last thirty years. China’s growth into a hegemony directly threatens Taiwan as well as the area surrounding. As the region only increases in value with more trade and energy flow, the security of the small island "state" is uncertain and raises concerns in regards to China's strategy for the area.
