A study on the utilization levels of on-street metered parking in Old Pasadena: Delta

This project examined the utilization levels of current on-street metered parking spaces in Old Pasadena, and how they related to other public parking facilities. In order to identify where and when these parking spaces were used, field surveys were conducted to collect usage data at different hours and on multiple days. 2D and 3D maps were created for visualizing spatial and temporal usage patterns. The survey data indicates that metered parking spaces along busy store fronts were always heavily used, and the usage level of those farther away from the busy district consistently declined with increasing walking time. The usage level was also found to be influenced by the four existing public parking garages, especially during peak hours.
