Teacher educators of the hearing impaired in the United States
By means of mailed questionnaires, educators training teachers of the hearing impaired in the United States were surveyed. Three types of information were gathered: 1) a professional description of teacher educators of the hearing impaired; 2) a description of program emphases preparing teachers of the hearing impaired; and 3) an identification of teacher educator professional opinions in regard to certain issues in the field of teacher preparation. The study provides a description of the salient characteristics in each of these three areas. Additionally, the data from each of the three groups of information was compared to reveal relationships between variables.
