Grid-based secure web service framework for bioinformatics

After dozens of years' growth, biologists found out the original web-based
 bioinformatics is inconvenient when they handle many web sites manually in order to
 perform a single task. So web service based bioinformatics is proposed afterwards.
 However, web service didn't cover security issues until couples of years ago. And web
 service based bioinformatics developed at that time didn't involve any security
 methods. On the other hand, biologists do require secure bioinformatics systems.
 A Grid-based Secure Web Service Framework for Bioinformatics (GSWSF) is
 proposed in this thesis. Bioinformatics becomes secure and even maintains easy-to-use
 by this framework. This thesis covers the architecture of the framework and some hints
 for design and implement of the framework. Two security mechanisms, transport level
 security and message level security, are provided by the framework for secure web
 services. The framework is applied on CSUSM bioinformatics project. So biologists
 don't worry about security issues any more and the system offers a public interface to
 any entity that is willing to make any contributions to the bioinformatics.
