China's Maritime Policy and Strategy

In the last few decades, China has made unprecedented progress in its own growth. From the work of Deng Xiaoping and the upkeeping from his successors until current leader Xi Jinping, China's economic rise rivals that of the United States. This has also renewed maritime confidence in China's navy, also known as People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) which has been growing. Strategy and doctrine play a large role in the advancement of Chinese military influence it has on policy. Strategists such as Sun Tzu, Carl von Clausewitz, and Alfred Mahan are essential to the leadership and strategy studies of officer in PLAN. With a rise in power, it is assumed that the leadership and strategy studies of officer in PLAN.
