Experiences and contributions of homeschooling mothers

This research was conducted in order to understand the experiences of the day-to-day lives of mothers who homeschool their children. Nine mothers were interviewed and questioned about their experiences in homeschooling their children, including their approach to homeschooling, their reasons for doing so, how they balance homeschooling with other chores and staying home with personal ambitions, and where they tum to for support. Results showed that although the mothers shared experiences of assuming great responsibility and making personal sacrifices, they remain fulfilled in their role as mother-teachers because of support from their husbands and from other homeschooling mothers.
