The Effects of Leadership Styles on Job Satisfaction By Yajayra Gil Cachay Master of Public Administration in Public Sector Management and Leadership The purpose of the following paper is to examine the effects of transactional leadership and transformational leadership on job satisfaction and to propose a research to be conducted on Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS). The study would be a random sampling to choose a district office for the survey, based on the multifactor leadership questionnaire (MLQ) and the Minnesota satisfaction questionnaire (MSQ), to be distributed and collected. All ethical explorations and consideration will be taken into account in this quantitative research, and the Person correlation coefficient or the Spearman Rho Will be used to test our hypothesis as well as the multiple least squares regression analysis. Whether the hypothesis is proven or disproven it can lead to further research as well as the local government agencies to adapt an adequate leadership style for their agency.
