Applications of Autonomous Drone Flying

The goal is to construct a drone from a Parallax kit; adding additional components such as a telemetry kit, Ardiunos and ultra sonic sensors; and modifying the quadcopter firmware to add additional functionality. Modifications should allow for autonomous elevation control and stabilization, collision avoidance, and speed control. Applications for this project include autonomous preprogramed flying, target detection/ recognition, search and rescue, and aerial surveillance.
