A model for an artificial icing cloud

This report describes in detail the work performed to develop a computer model of an in-flight artificially produced icing cloud. A primary feature of the model includes the calculation of the trajectories of evaporating droplets as they move in the flow field generated by an array of spray nozzles. The model includes the mutual interaction between the droplets and the two dimensional flow field. This model allows the determination of the distribution of all cloud properties in any plane downstream of the injection plane. The computer program was designed in modular form so that refinement in any part of the model can easily be incorporated.
