Veterans matriculating to civilian life: utilizing the GI Bill for higher education

With the increase of veteran enrollment into college campuses in the U.S., many veterans and military personnel continue to suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD). Institutions of higher learning are trying to bridge the gap with the VA to provide the appropriate resources to veterans attending college. There is limited qualitative research that shows academically and socially what contributes to the success of veterans who have served in the Post-9/11 War of Iraq and Afghanistan. This study will use two sets of interviews to gain a better understanding of the relationship between VA Department, administrators in student affairs, and veterans attending college as a civilian using the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill.
