Overcoming the challenges of being a female IT manager
The purpose of this project is to explore the similarities and differences between male and female IT managers, and the challenges that females face working within the industry. The similarities are that both require the same education and skills. Both genders have similar responsibilities within the department, and within and outside the organization. The differences between male and female IT managers are that female IT managers are paid less, are more likely to quit, and exhibit higher leadership effectiveness than male IT managers. The challenges include family characteristics and sociological attributes, education, and corporate culture. The study also provides solutions to the challenges that female IT managers face based on the comparison between the two genders.
