Short Stories from A to Z

This project report explores my collection of paintings. I have been influenced by a number of literatures that I have encountered in my adult years. A few of the ones that I will be discussing include “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak, “The Heart and The Bottle” by Oliver Jeffers and “Make Magic! Do Good!” by Dallas Clayton. What has specifically motivated me, aside from the context, is the way illustrators depict a story. My area of focus will be in children’s literature. The twenty-six paintings in this collection will be accompanied by short stories that will come together as a children’s alphabet book. Each short story in this book will incorporate the use of alliteration. This collection of paintings will also demonstrate examples of Pop Surrealism. The artist who has strongly influenced my work over time is Greg “Craola” Simkins. A child’s imagination has captured my interests in creating work that further broadens their creativity.
