The Effects of Social Skills Training and Modeling by Non-Disabled Students on the Social Skills of Students with Disabilities
This qualitative action research study sought to understand the effects of social skills training and modeling by non-disabled students on the social skills of students with severe disabilities. Research has shown that training and modeling by non-disabled students on the social skills of students with disabilities can be successful, but never has a Character Leaders Class (School website, www.vhs.vusd. k12.ca.us) been used. The researcher collected data on the students training and modeling in three specific areas of behavior. The data confirmed that training and modeling decreased the occurrences of the three targeted behaviors.
