Evaluation of an Intergenerational Model to Improve Family Literacy
The purpose of the research carried out for this thesis was to determine the impact and effectiveness of an intergenerational instructional model to improve family literacy. The particular model studied was home-based. A trained volunteer tutor met and worked with both the adult learner (in this study, all were mothers) and the children, one of whom must have been five years of age or younger. This study evaluated the program using standardized tests and self-reported surveys.
