Telecommuting Effects on Productivity Los Angeles County

Los Angeles County has policy and procedures for telework and acknowledge the benefits of telecommuting in their guide and benefits the organization with increased productivity. Even though it is beneficial to the organization and the employees, most Department of Public Social services employees are not offered the opportunity or are unaware they can request to telecommute. Telecommuting requires many adjustments compared to working in an office being visually supervised. These adjustments include changing from traditional leadership styles to more contemporary leadership styles, flexibility, adjusting to different generations and with the approval of more employees telecommuting, it will reduce traffic congestion with the increased population density. This research that would be implemented would be descriptive and offer answers on why employees telecommute or not and barriers they face while telecommuting and with those finding find solutions increase productivity in the department by offering training on areas that need adjusting.
