NOB : network optimization for beginners

Network Optimization for Beginners (NOB) is a Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) package of programs that utilizes graphics, graph theory and networking algorithms to demonstrate network optimization. NOB is designed to aid beginning or advanced students in grasping the concepts of network design and optimization. The programs can also be used by the network designer as a starting point for a true network design utilization. The project consists of 12 individual modules which demonstrate various aspects of computer networking and graph theory. The algorithms employed by these programs are used by a design program to show how a large computer would heuristically search for cheaper and faster networks given initial locations of the network nodes under specified performance requirements and restrictions.
